INSTAGRAM – This is the new social media and a must have app for everyone.  It’s a perfect blend of Twitter and Facebook.  You can take pictures of anything you want people to see.  There are 18 artistic filters that add a different effect to your image to make them look vintage, edgy, and fun.  If you don’t already have this app, download it right now and start instagramming!

SHOPSAVVY – This is a very handy app for people on the go!  It features a barcode scanner that uses your phone’s camera to take a picture of the products barcode.  The app provides the price, online and local stores to purchase the product, and reviews.  This will work on any barcode in any store.  You can search for the lowest price, to get the best deal!!  For those looking for the best bargain, this is the app for you!

WHATSAPP MESSENGER – This app is a must have for those texters!!  It allows you to send text messages to anyone, on any device, for free.  It is very simple – all you do is put in the phone number and start texting!  This app saves conversations and functions like a normal messenger app.  Text on!!!

Gardiner discovered 3 new, cool apps to add to your phones.  Read the descriptions and have fun!!!

1.  360 Panorama – This app is awesome!  It’s as simple as aiming and moving your phone around an area.  You don’t even have to click the “capture picture” button, it records the image automatically.  The final image is a flawless stitching of pictures that will recreate memories as you saw them.  This is one of my favorite apps and perfect for summer fun!!!

2.  iTunes Movie Trailers – If you are a movie buff, this is the app for you!  This lets you see all the newest, full movie trailers and clips of movies that will soon be released to theaters.  You can bookmark certain trailers that you want to see and the app will send you a notification the day the movie is released to theaters.  I’m excited to see some new movies this Fall!!

3.  Slotomania – This is my fun pick!  If you want a new, fun game, this is your app!!  This is a simple and addictive game that requires no skill and lots of luck.  It will cure your withdrawal if you couldn’t make it to Vegas this summer!!  It seems never ending and the thrill of winning and reaching the next level keeps you hitting the spin button.  Come on 7′s!!!!

With senior portrait season in full swing, we at HWA thought it would be fun to write a little article on how to prepare for it.  Once you decide to get your pictures taken from us, here’s what you need to do!

-       Meet with your photographer to discuss location, outfits, and any ideas to make your session unique and creative.

-       Prepare 6-10 complete outfits.  Bring them ironed and on hangers.  Make sure theses outfits are classic, timeless pieces.  This is your time to shine, so pick your outfits based on your personality.

-       Don’t forget to bring accessories and any props you want to include to make your make your pictures stand out (ie, shoes, jewelry, makeup, hair brush).

-       On the way to your shoot, don’t wear sunglasses.  They leave red marks on your nose, and that doesn’t look good!!

-       Arrive 15 minutes before your shoot begins and be ready to go – hair and makeup on!

-       If you would feel more comfortable with a parent or friend, bring them.  If they will distract you, leave them at home!

-       Get excited!  Don’t be nervous…this is a fun and exciting time and we want your smile to radiate!!
